Protective gases prevent undesirable oxidation such as oxide scale, scaling, tarnish, etc. in high temperature metal processing operations such as hardening, sintering, welding or brazing. Protective gases also prevent water absorption of hygroscopic materials (pharmaceuticals, explosives) and serve to preserve foods through oxygen displacement. Protective gases can be: Nitrogen (N2), argon (Ar), hydrogen (H2), carbon dioxide (CO2) and mixtures thereof. Reactive gases, such as carbon monoxide (CO) or hydrogen, are used in technical processes, which usually take place at elevated temperatures (e.g. surface hardening process or oxygen removal by water formation with subsequent dehydration).
If you have a request for a technical solution for your process, for a catalytic converter type or if you would like a commercial offer, we ask you to contact our sales department. Please use the questionnaire or call directly on 0049 8106 2359893.
